Kirby Morgan Dive Systems, Inc. announces that CE certification is now finalized and in place for both the KM-77 REX® & KM 47 deep sea diving helmets
Kirby Morgan’s new model stainless steel helmet the KM-77 REX ® and the fiberglass KM-47 helmets are the very first commercial diving helmets in the world to meet the new stringent European Helmet Standards and test requirements (CE). Both helmet models recently completed several months of testing for conformity to the new open circuit surface supplied standard EN250:2000, A1:2006 –EN 15333-:2008.
The new standard has been in draft for four years and was just recently finalized and put into effect in the European Union (EU) in November 2007.
Some of the items covered in the standard include breathing performance, re-inspired Co2, impact, field of vision, hot and cold storage tests as well as cold water performance testing.
Most of the above testing was conducted at Dive Lab, in Panama City Beach, Florida. All shock, impact, high temperature and ultra violet exposure tests were conducted to EN812:1997+A1:2001 and done at OMEGA presso PST di Rivalta Scrivia in Italy.
